“Fitoor”: A 2016 Indian movie based on the book “Great Expectations”, by Charles Dickens.
Subtitled on Netflix. It’s has a much better ending than the Dickens version; in fact it’s what I always wanted the ending of the book to be… to have love prevailing against all odds.
In the original Dickens book, Pip’s love for Estrella dies out, and Estrella ends up married a second time to a poor chap. And Pip & Estrella part ways, albeit amicably, but without passion. Yuck! Love Dickens, but his endings leave the reader much to be desired!
